About Us

About Us

Our Mission: To love, cherish, and care for your pets as if they were our own.

We know that your animals are as precious and important to you as your very own children. We protect and care for them as if they are an extension of your family.

Also, we recognize that each pet needs to be cared for with respect for their age, disposition, and physical and emotional needs. We have worked very closely with veterinarians and caregivers over the years and will continue to strive to become knowledgeable in providing for your pet’s safety and comfort.

Vineyard Kennels is a family-owned labor of love for more than 20 years. We hope to be here to serve you and your pet for as long as God sees fit. Thank you for letting us care for your pets.

Our Team

Chris Stout, Founder

Our founder Chris Stout has always had a passion for all animals—in fact, she met her beloved husband Jack while walking her pet duck! Chris had a successful career for many years fighting world hunger, including being recognized by President Ronald Reagan with a Volunteer Action Award in 1984. Upon retirement from that field, Chris returned to her love for animals, obtaining certification in kennel management and establishing Vineyard Kennels as a family business in 1996.

Carson Stout

Carson Stout, Owner/Operator

Carson has been involved with Vineyard Kennels from Day 1, helping his parents to establish the business and expand the facility. After completing his BA at UCSB and pursuing a career in the food and wine industry for many years, Carson took over the business full-time in 2010 after Jack’s passing. Carson is a hands-on owner/operator who looks after the business from his home right on the ranch. He is a well-known and established member and supporter of the North County business community. Although Carson always has a project under way to improve the property, he’s never too busy to look in on the dogs, answer your questions, or say hello to one of the kennel’s many long-time customers.

Sabria Eschevarria

Sabria Echevarria, Resident Manager

Sabria has been a steady presence at the kennel for many years! Sabria came to us in 2013 with previous experience at San Luis Obispo Animal Services and a natural talent for dog handling. She has earned her position as manager through hard work, dedication, loyalty and willingness to learn. These days, the day-to-day operation of the kennel is entrusted to her attentive care. Sabria lives on the property with her family, including her daughters Jazmin and Jen, who are learning the business just as their mother did. When they’re not in school, you’re likely to see them onsite providing the dogs with extra attention and love.
